Call to Order: The quarterly HSTP meeting was called to order at 11:02 a.m., at Spero Family Services, by Chairperson Jimmy Leadingham. 

 

Introductions: Each member in attendance introduced themselves, as did those on the phone.  

 

Approval of May minutes: There were no additions or corrections, motion by Mark Bollmann, seconded by Sara Hodge to accept and approve the minutes. Motion carried.

  

Transportation Concerns:  Robert Wilson announced ATS service updates including microtransit in the Belleville area, Emerson Park station will have its open house with improvements that have been made, expansion area to Fairmont City & Brooklyn, St. Clair Co. Transit will have open bidding for electric vehicles.

Staffing problems were a hot topic.  Some agencies that are having some success:

Shawnee MTD & Shawnee Development are working together to get people hired.  

Spero & Jackson Co. MTD stated that they are offering sign on bonuses.

Caritas needs staff in all positions.

It was also announced that Helping Hands, non-emergency medical transportation provider that covered most of S. Il., is no longer in business.

 

Regional Plan: Terri Finn provided the updates that she has been working on.  She provided members with a contact list that she would like everyone to complete.  The information needed would be of agency contacts that members work with that would be willing to complete surveys that address the gaps & needs of the region.  

Surveys are to be sent out to transportation providers, riders, service agencies and the community at large as soon as contact lists are returned to Terri.  

 

General Discussion:  

CVP applications  - possibly available in 6 weeks

BlackCat system access is moving along for all 5310 recipients to report to IDOT thru

Contact Terri for RTAC -IPTA conference information

 

Next meeting, November 17th at South Central Transit, 100 N. Locust
