Call to Order: The quarterly HSTP Region 10 meeting was held on Tuesday, October 17th, 2023, at Community Support Systems in Teutopolis.  The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Mark Auten at 11:05am. 

 

Introductions: All attendees introduced themselves and their respective agencies

 

Approval of July 2023 meeting minutes:  Chairperson Auten asked everyone to review the minutes from the July meeting.  A correction to David Maziarz name will be made.  Motion was made by Mike Egbert and seconded by John Althoff to accept the minutes with correction.

Guest Speaker: Pete Niccum with Community Support Systems

CSS serves approximately 3,000 people annually in the various programs they offer.  Of those 131 access transportation for work, daily living, social, recreation, &\or skills training.  CSS does coordinate the transportation needs with CIPT & ECPT. 

Services & programs that CSS offers include: 6 CILA homes, a fundraising art auction, Blessings in a Backpack which provides food and other goods for kids, and child & family advocacy.  The supported employment opportunities have a contract with Boos Boards, ConAgra, Steven’s, 2 state rest areas and janitorial services for local businesses.

 

Regional Plan: Terri Finn went over the updates to Gaps & Needs that were made during the last meeting. 

Rides MTD reports some improvement in hiring in various counties.

CIPT’s medical transportation coordinator is having an impact as far as better communication and education to larger medical facilities in their area.

 

Transportation Concerns:  Pete Niccum brought up an issue that may cause some problems when asking IDOT for disposal of vehicles.  A vehicle compliance inspector, Kirk Yaeger, was recently at CSS and told them that there are deadlines for removing unused vehicles from property.  The deadline is a very short timeframe, especially when waiting for IDOT to release vehicles for disposal.  Terri Finn will provide this information to Zoe Keller at IDOT and relay info that is received.  

General Discussion: Handouts and resource materials were addressed by Riley Anderson. 

IDOT Updates-Award letters MIGHT go out from IDOT in November.  DHS & HFS could have a meeting in the near future to discuss the problems that occurring for riders using MCO’s to schedule medical trips.

October 15th-hosted by Community Support Services
