Speaker: Tonya
Potts from Egyptian Health Department was the guest speaker. She is the
Director of Integrated Care for Adults. She spoke about the agency’s IHUB
location that houses integrated care for adults and kids. The service covers
five counties in Southeastern Illinois and is only for clients with Medicaid. Tonya
shared that housing instability has become a critical need especially since
Covid. The agency was provided with a one-time grant from Molina due to
transportation needs for medical, behavioral health, mental health, etc. and
was able to purchase a van. The agency encourages clients to prioritize working
with the MCO to secure a trip to their medical appointments. If that is not
available, the health department will use the van to provide the trip. The health
department also works with the local transit agency to secure transportation
for the clients when available.
