The quarterly HSTP Region 10 meeting, held at Charleston Transitional Facility, was called to order at 11:01am by Vice Chairperson Mark Auten.  Introductions were done by all attending.

The Region 10 meeting minutes from July 15, 2014 were reviewed and a motion made by Mark Auten of TRADE to approve the minutes, with a 2nd by Betty Cox of CCR.  Motion carried.

Terri Finn handed out the revised CVP endorsement voting forms.  She discussed the changes to the form, and how each agency applying, will receive this form to complete and submit to Terri prior to the May voting meeting.  All voting members will receive the information form of each applicant prior to the voting meeting.  This will allow voting committee members to be better informed of the agencies request and be prepared with questions that might still need to be answered.  Bill Jung asked if any of the committee members had additional information or questions regarding the new CVP voting form.  Since this form will also be used by Region 9 & 11 HSTP Committees, Terri will take this form to those committees for final review and inform them that Region 10 has agreed to use as is.

Bill Jung announced the Committee will be voting to elect officers for the Region 10 HSTP Committee.  Terri Finn read the names of those eligible to run for office and asked for volunteers or nominations.  Committee members nominated a slate consisting of Mark Auten for Chairperson Debra King for Vice Chairperson and Gidget Simpson for Secretary.  Hearing no further nominations, a motion was made by Bill Jung to accept the slate of nominees with a 2nd by Dennis Shiley.  Motion carried.

General Discussion:
·         Terri Finn discussed with the committee about checking Mike Healy’s blog for updates regarding the CVP grants and other pertinent information regarding the CVP grants.  That site is cvpupdates.wordpress.com

  • Terri Finn shared information regarding the CVP 2013 vehicles, stating that light-medium duty vehicles are being ordered and should be delivered January 2015.         2014 CVP grants have been scored, but further information will be released later.
  • Terri Finn handed out marketing packets; discussing how the Illinois Department of Transportation had their triennial review and one of the items that needs improvement is marketing of all public transportation vehicles and services.  IDOT has asked that all agencies that have received vehicles to “beef up” their marketing and use of the vehicles.  Terri urged committee members to use this document or others they may already have and increase the marketing of their agencies transportation services.
  • Terri Finn announced November being “Veteran’s month” and encouraged committee members to provide free transportation services to all Veteran’s if possible.
  •  Bill Jung, announced scheduling the committee meetings for 2015.  The first 2015 Region 10 Committee meeting will be held on JANUARY 20, 2015 at Clay Co. Rehab in Flora.  Second, will be held MAY 19th (CVP voting meeting also).  Third, will be held JULY 21.  Fourth, will be held OCTOBER 20th.

Bill Jung asked for motions to adjourn the Region 10 meeting; Taja Wheeler motioned for the meeting to adjourn; Mark Auten 2nd the motion.  Region 10 committee meeting adjourned at 11:33am.

Thank you Taja & Charleston Transitional Facility for hosting the meeting and providing the wonderful snacks and drinks.  We appreciate it very much!
