Call to Order- The Region 9 quarterly HSTP meeting was called to order at 11:07 a.m. by Sherry Hicks. 

 

Introductions-All those in attendance introduced themselves and announced their agency.

 

Approval of March 2022 meeting minutes-Motion by David Riegel, second by Joe Domer.  Minutes approved with no additions or corrections.  

 

Regional Plan-Terri Finn led the discussion on survey results and the draft gaps & needs section of the Regional Plan.  The Committee decided to add information about the lack of workforce negatively effecting transit. Terri will update the plan and the Committee will review the complete Plan at the next meeting, if complete, the Committee will approve the final document.   

 

CVP applications-All agency applicants went through their requests for vehicles and explained the reasons for requests.  The Committee was given opportunity to ask questions of the applicants.

·         FAYCO: requesting 1 minivan, 3 Light duty vehicles and 4 medium duty vehicles, all replacements due to age of current vehicles and expansion of a residential home.

·         Central IL Public Transit: requesting 2 mini vans, 3 medium duty and 1 super medium duty, all replacement.

·         Bond County Transit: requesting 2 mini vans & 3 light duty vehicles for replacement.

·         Community Link: requesting 2 medium duty vehicles for expansion of their day program.

·         South Central Transit: requesting 13 medium duty, 2 super medium duty vehicles, all replacement.

 

·         Challenge Unlimited: requesting 4 minivans, 2 medium duty, & 4 super medium duty vehicles, all replacements.

·         Residential Options: requesting 2 minivans for replacement.

 

Transportation Concerns

Agency Updates:

Joe Domer gave a route update on MCT\ACT’s SIU-E route and the Riverbend route.  Riverbend route was changed to serve more riders. MCT has also launched a new website.

 

Terri Finn informed the Committee of a coordination\mobility management situation with a resident of Madison Co. that was needing to get to Montgomery Co. for a housing appointment.  Terri explained how ACT, Tri-Co. Transit, Macoupin Co. Transit, & Macoupin Co. Health Dept. all worked together to coordinate a trip for the rider. She thanked all of those involved for their help.

 

Sherry Hicks discussed Fayco sending staff to IDOT’s maintenance training.  Dave Patton expanded on trainings as well as agencies using the RTAC 5311 email group to discuss such topics as the statewide parts shortage or just to engage in conversations about maintenance, parts, or any other issues.  There was also discussion on having a Region 9 HSTP group email.

Next meeting-The next meeting is scheduled for Sept. 8th in Macoupin County. Location info will be listed on the upcoming meeting notice.
