The quarterly HSTP Region
10 meeting was held on Tuesday, May 21st, at CILA Corporation in
Flora. The meeting was called to order at 11:12 am by Committee Co-Chair,
Melissa Schilling. Introductions of
committee members were done.
The minutes from the
January 2019 conference call were reviewed.
Mike Egbert made the motion to approve the minutes. Betty Cox seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Guest speaker: Dayo Adeneken,
Executive Director of CILA Corporation
Dayo started with how he
started in the business in the late 80’s then came to CILA Corp. in 1997. At that time the agency was called Flora
Manor, a larger ICF-DD facility. It was home to 72 residents. In 2008 it was decided to build CILA homes in
Flora and move those residents into the new CILA homes. Transportation became
an issue as 75% of resident’s were\are wheelchair users. That is when CILA Corp. was introduced to
IDOT and the CVP program. CILA Corp. now
has 9 CILA homes, in the Flora area, with 8 residents in each home. 6 IDOT
buses are being used daily to provide transportation to work, for daily living
needs, etc. to provide 14-15,000 trips each year.
General Discussion:
·
Agency Information\Updates-Betty Cox shared how Clay County
Rehabilitation Center in Flora, also uses their buses to help expand their
client services at CCR. They now have
the clients help with Meals on Wheels and the Animal Adoption Society.

the office in Harrisburg to say good bye to her and Director Bill Jung, who

John Gillmore.
Mike Egbert reported that
OFA’s Effingham office will be moving to a different location. Also, the Disability Rally that was held at
the state Capital went very well.
·
New Business- Terri Finn explained to the committee that GATA was under
federal
mandate changes and that
has caused the holdup with the CVP applications. There is still no word on when the
applications will be released.
Terri Finn also asked
agencies to submit, to her, any success stories so she can post them &\or
submit them to publications for acknowledgement.
Terri Finn then asked the
committee to be thinking about future speakers for the Region 10 meetings.
