The quarterly HSTP Region
10 meeting was held on Tuesday January 19th and called to order by
Chairperson Betty Cox at 11:05am. A roll
call was taken by Terri Finn.
Election of Officers: The call was opened for
members to volunteer or nominate for the positions of Chairperson, Co-Chair
& Secretary. After some discussion
the following slate of officers was approved for a 2 year term:
Chairperson-Mark Auten, Co-Chair-Janice Zwilling, Secretary-Gidget Simpson. Motion approved.
Approval of Minutes: The minutes from the October
20, 2020 meeting were reviewed. Betty
Cox made the motion to approve the minutes, Janice Zwilling seconded the
motion. Minutes were approved with no
additions or corrections.
Transportation Concerns: Committee members from
workshop\day program and CILA agencies gave an update on the continuing limited
service.
Public providers are
still seeing a down tick in ridership but are providing other services to help
their communities (meal deliveries, medication pick-up & delivery,
etc.). Phil Toops asked how the changing
tier levels will affect the safety precautions that transit currently has in
place. It was suggested that he confer
with the local health departments and IDOT recommendations, which are to keep
all safety measures to the maximum.
General Discussion: Terri Finn informed the
committee about a new FTA resource guide on COVID recovery practices in
transit. She will email it to everyone
after the meeting. She also provided an
update on CVP for 2021. IDOT is now
hoping that the CVP applications are available in April (previously announced
March). And finally, she reported that
FTA has announced $50million in extra dollars is being allocated to the 5310
program. These funds could be used for
operations, payroll, PPE, sanitation, etc.
In past years IDOT has only allocated 5310 funds for vehicle purchases
(CVP). It is unknown, at this time, if
they will change that.
The committee set meeting
dates for 2021 as follows:
April 20, July 20, Oct.
19 & Jan. 18, 2022. Meetings will
continue to be via conference call until restrictions are eased.
Janice Zwilling made a
motion to adjourn the meeting. Cory
Young seconded the motion. Meeting was
adjourned at 11:38am.
