The
Region 9 quarterly HSTP meeting was called to order at 11:04 a.m., by Vice-Chairperson
Lacey Miller via conference call.
Everyone in attendance introduced themselves.
Approval of March 2020 Meeting Minutes – motion by Jill
Ohnesorge, second by Gerald McDonald. Minutes
approved.
Regional Plan:
The Committee was asked review the gaps & needs that had been established
at the March meeting and have a discussion on strategies to meet needs\close
gaps that could be achievable over the next 3 years.
·
Communication:
Group email, listserv for all 3 regions to coordinate and communicate need for
trip or availability of space for a rider to a specific destination
·
Coordination:
Transfer stations-which bring other obstacles as riders don’t want to transfer
or may not understand the transfer process.
Mobility management, skills training or travel buddy could help some
riders make this transition.
·
Funding: Capital
funds could help with the building of transfer stations
Terri Finn will be sending the finalized
rider\community survey out and asked that all agencies make it available thru
whatever means they have to get to as many people as possible. Terri also asked that agencies that have
survey data, they have already done, to please send to her.
General Discussion:
·
Agency Information\Updates
–
o
Discussed vehicle
cleaning and a drivers cleaning log to keep a record of sanitation.
o
Discussed safety
measures for drivers; masks, disinfecting wipes, sprays, plexiglass shield
guards
o
Reinventing
services to workshops, CILA homes, etc.
Providers are losing local match due to the shutdown of such
agencies. The current date for reopening
is Aug. 31st but that could change.
IDPH & DHS will have rules on seating, distancing, etc. that will
have to be adhered to which will in turn change scheduling trips.
o
Discussion on
transporting nursing home residents that are possibly COVID positive but
nursing home doesn’t always disclose that information. This is most likely true for general public
riders too. Or there is always the possibility
that a rider could be traveling to\from a location that has infection or the
rider is in the vicinity of an infected person at the location.
o
Joe Domer
reported that MCT & ACT are limiting travel to necessary trips with 50% of
seating capacity limit on vehicles.
Transfer stations in the county are currently closed.
o
Most public
providers are offering trips at no charge currently due to receiving CARES ACT
funds to offset fares during this time.
·
New Business\Open
Discussion – No new business
The next
meeting is scheduled for September 10th. Location is tentatively set for Vandalia but,
depending on circumstances, this is subject to change.
Adjourn:
