The
Region 9 quarterly HSTP meeting was called to order at 11:04a.m., by Vice-Chairperson
Lacey Miller at the Bradford Community Building in Greenville. Everyone in attendance introduced themselves.
Approval of December 2019 Meeting Minutes – motion by Mike
Egbert, second by Melissa Schilling. Minutes approved.
Regional Plan:
The Committee was asked what they felt were still the gaps in service and the
needs within the region as well as in their own communities. A list was comprised that included:
·
Mobility devices
exceeding lift weight limits
·
Denial of trips
due to lack of vehicles
·
Needs for increased
funding for maintenance and repairs
·
Driver hiring and
retention
·
Increased service
to smaller communities
·
Transfer stations
·
Better
communication with MCO’s
·
Etc.
Terri Finn will work through these Plan suggestions
and have them for everyone at the June meeting.
General Discussion:
·
Agency
Information\Updates – Lacey Miller had some questions about service contracts
and how to establish them. Terri Finn
will provide resource materials on this subject. There was also a question about Macoupin Co.
Public Transit coordinating service with Central Il. Public Transit or other
agencies for trips to Springfield.
Melissa Schilling was not sure about that situation and there was no
representation from MCPT. This question
was tabled.
·
New Business\Open
Discussion – CVP applications: Terri
Finn explained that, at this time, applications may become available in May but
IDOT has a new system for submittal of all documents, Blackcat, and there would
have to be training on the system and work on IDOT’s part to get every agency
entered into the system so May is not looking to promising.
Some
Committee members asked and have concerns about the Corona virus and if there
will be new guidelines for transporting human service agency clients.
The next
meeting is scheduled for June 11th at the South Central Transit
Training Center in Centralia.
Adjourn:
·
Motion to adjourn
at 11:55 a.m. by Sara Hodge-Nollman, second by Gerald McDonald.
